A note on this piece: The Huichol, or Wixáritari, are an indigenous people of the Sierra Madres. Their traditional methods of creating art are closely aligned with the shamanistic practices which form the backbone of their culture and, among many other things, aid them in communing with their ancestor spirits. 50% profits from the sale of this original will be donated to the Huichol Foundation’s Artisan Apprenticeship Program, which provides direct economic support to individuals and familial groups of artists in training.
